EARTHWORK PLANTED (2018) ist eine Land Art Intervention in den Schweizer Alpen. Sechs Steine wurden von Originalorten weltbekannter amerikanischer Land Art-Werken wie der Spiral Jetty, dem Double Negative oder den Sun Tunnels in regelmässigen Abständen auf einer Linie von exakt zehn Kilometern Länge und auf einer Höhe von 1655 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel im Safiental vergraben. Einzig kleine Tafeln kennzeichnen die Stellen. Die konzeptionelle Arbeit verweist auf die künstlerischen Strategien der historischen Land Art Bewegung und wie aus der vermeintlichen Abwesenheit eines Kunstwerks Mediatoren entstehen, die untrennbar zum Kunstwerk gehören. Land Art ist nicht nur eine ortsspezifische Intervention, sondern auch das Aktivieren und Animieren der Betrachter sich auf die Reise hin zu dem Ort der physischen Erfahrbarkeit zu begeben.

EARTHWORK PLANTED (2018) is a Land Art intervention in the Swiss Alps. Six stones have been taken from world-famous American Land Art works like the Spiral Jetty, the Double Negative and the Sun Tunnels and buried at regular intervals along a line of ten kilometers and at an altitude of 1655 meters above sea level in the Safien Valley. Only small plaques indicate the locations of these stones. Thus, this conceptual work refers to the artistic strategies of the historical Land Art movement and how, even in the supposed absence of the work of art itself, mediators emerge that are inseparable from it. Land Art is not only a site-specific intervention but also about activating and animating the viewer as they undertake the journey to the site of the physical experience.
